Spoon Network and Other Dreams

DanaArt Gallery and Odeon Gallery invites you on the 22nd of March, 2012, 18.30 o’clock, at the opening of the installation / performance exhibition Spoon Network and Other Dreams of the artist Corina Sârbu. The exhibition will be open from the the 19th of March to the 5th of April 2012.

450 wooden spoons take part in a volumetric choreography at the establishment of a special network proposed by the graphic designer Corina Sârbu. The form and partially even the material of which the spoons are made, are bounded to usability. The tableware can be a medium for decorative art, but can become an art object of itself, if the function is given up in favor of esthetical reasons. Using the spoon as a module leads to assembly / installation art, to scenographic groups or to various other structures, mainly minimalist. The order, the matrix structure, the visual vectors determined by the placement of the handle and of the bowl, the numerology (in this case magic, built up around seven), the rhythmicity achieved through dimensions, the moments of torsion and color are just few of the morphological elements of the project and of the exhibition. The periodic detachment from the module is made with English red (terracotta), green and pink, in relation with the choreographic, sound and color based performance, that will be held on the 22nd of March by the Constanţa Opera ballerina, Aliss Tarcea, who will interact with the installation, on the music of the unequalled Balanescu Quartet. The stake of this artistic event totally excludes the anecdote and the story, favoring the manifestation through visual, static or kinetic sign.
